Yes, gold can scratch, and very easily. It's a soft metal, so dents, dings, scratches, and bent bands happen often.
What you have is 91.8% pure gold, so it's fairly soft. (For anyone interested, it would have been marked 22K in the US.) You can take it back to the store where you bought it and ask them about repairs. Most stores will do it for free since you just bought it.

:) don't worry. gold is very soft. you can usually take it to a jeweler and have them buff the scratches out!
