Original Iron Chef. The original chefs had to use different methods of cooking. In the American version that have deep fryers on hand and everthing you can think of, the orginal had to used their woks for everything. Also the American version are full of pretty boys that like th attention of the camara. The original chefs just cooked. Also, I like to hear the guy on the orignal yell, "Cool ya son!"

Loved the original Iron Chef!
The first Iron Chef America (with William Shatner) was awful.
The new Iron Chef is pretty good.

For the amusement factor, the Original: The Chairman, the giggling actress and dour food critic... the amusing voice overs. The "secret" ingredient... often live !!
For recipes and my sanity, Iron Chef America ! Alton Brown does great work, the production is better, and the food looks great.
Hmmm... Chef Cat Cora... talk about YUMMY !!

Original Iron Chef definately! The ingredients were cooler! Half the time they were still alive!!! Also the host (that crazy guy who ate the pepper) was way better. Don't get me wrong, I love Alton Brown, but the original show was way too fun to watch.

I like watching the original iron chef, they come up with more unusual foods than the american series. But the American version is good too, i like Mario.

For some reason, I like the original better. It is very interesting. I am not trying to take anything away from the American version, but, I just prefer the Japanese on better.

Original, because nothing beats how ridiculously cheasy the lines are, and the bad voice-overs.
