Find things that you like to do with friends or on your own. This way you'll realize much sooner that you don't "need" this person in your life and that there are many others who can be there for you.

Put pictures and visual memories of them away. Keep yourself busy in work, plans with friends. If there were deep feelings there, it's hard! But we all have to move on. Cry yourself to sleep. You'll get tired of that yourself fast! :-)
