Hi. The moon is actually mostly gray. The light gets some coloration as it passes through the atmosphere. When it is low in the sky the colors can be quite beautiful. Because when the moon reflects the light of the sun. the moon appear to be yellowish.

Because it gets full light from sun and then reflects to earth where we see from..you can even see the shadows of grooves and hills on moon that look like a rabit with 2 long hairs...

From the gases in the atmosphere. It can actually look yellow or even orange if it's low enough in the sky. The gases that make it look yellow? The gases that are emitted from cars every day and that are destroying our rain forests.
