Okay, logically the woman has squeezed something equivilent to a watermelon out of an opening the size of a lemon. Guys, think about the biggest, hardest crap you ever took and then multiply that by a 1974 Buick Road-Master! It takes time for the nerves and muscles to heal after that, so logically it will take some time for the woman to recover. Her body is physically worn out from the pregnancy, the delivery and the strain of caring for a newborn. When you're tired, you're not as interested in having sex. Also, she's a little traumatized by the birth ... sex gets you pregnant, pregnant means delivery, delivery equals pain ... you do the math. It's not exactly logical, but it's a very real fear for her. Then add to all of that the fact that she doesn't look or feel the same way she did before pregnancy, and she's worried that the guy won't find her "sexy" anymore. It's not unusual for new parents to go several months after the baby is born without having regular sexual relations. About the time the baby starts sleeping through the night, things will start to pick up. If everything is normal and healthy physically with the woman AND everything is normal and healthy with the relationship, then sexual relations should resume and be as pleasurable as before.

Emotionally the sex was much better. Physically it took a while. I have a 3 year old and a 9 month old and it's just now getting better. The hormones are still screwy for a while after you deliver so take it slow and don't expect too much the first time. Your body has been through a lot the last 9 months. If you're nursing, wear a bra because your breasts are still pretty tender and won't like getting bounced around very much. If you have a vaginal birth, use lots of lubricant and patience. And that's not even getting into being interrupted by the kids! It never fails that my son starts crying just when it's getting really good! :) I think he has a sex radar!

You must wait at least 6 weeks after you have had your baby to have sex if you had a normal vaginal delivery after your first check up with your doctor to make sure that everything has healed down there. The sex after a baby is just as good as before try doing some exercises for down there to tighten it back up you can do it any time even on the computer. sit back and relax and squeeze in and out and that tightens it back up also so when you get older you won't need to wear tena or depends.
HAPPY LOVE MAKING.

This is definitely an individual thing! I was terrified even after the six weeks, the first few times wasn't very good. It did take me a while to get back into the swing of things. But we did get there and it is much better, I am certainly not as shy as I was before having the baby.

Sex got much better after our children!!!!!

I think it is the bond that you get from parenting together and the intimacy that comes along with having something that is both a part of you and him.

There is no way to express the level or feeling of intimacy you feel when you are standing over a bassinet with your arms around each other in aw. Then you look at each other a see a tenderness you never seen before in each others eye's.

The first time after having a baby was a little wierd cause it had been so long. But eventually when I became comfortable again, it was 10 times as good as before!!! My guess would be that you could still be a little self-concious about what changes your body went through.

My sex drive decreased at 8 months and didn't really return until almost 6 months after I had my son. My OB said every woman is different and just to take it slow. I'm now with someone other than my son's father and the sex is amazing-when we have time!
