should I modify the dish to be a biquad dish antenna? Then would the coax go to my cable modem then to my wireless router, then to comp?

you could, but it wouldnt do a lot, there are companies that supply dish hardware for wifi, we have it here in spain, but you still need a provider. try www.iberbanda.es the site is only in spanish at the moment with english coming soon, they do have english speaking staff though, friends of mine use them and the service is far better than the retarded telefonica network that has the monopoly on landlines here

You can find a satellite ISP provider that will do this but you will need to uplink to send data and this will require a phone line also! If you are looking for a local wifi signal your dish will not work. Try a Hi gain wifi antenna!

The only way to do this is to subscribe to a service from DirecTV called DirecPC. You will need to replace the dish in order for the service to work. You will still be using your phone when online, and the dish is only used to return information to you. The phone line is where you send information from. Much like using regular dial up, only a lot faster when downloading. Hope this helps

You can a cable but it isn't going to do anything positive for you. Take a course in satellite communication and electronics.
