went 2 years to community collage and worked full time since I was 18. The day i graduated HS i signed my first lease. I live in an area where most people went to school. My concern is this. My bf is a collage graduate and we are going to his school this weekend. Anytime i am there or around his friends they always ask me where I went. MY general answer is " I went to school Locally." I had one of his friends Question me in depth understanding my circumstances, but to the others, what can I say without getting an odd look from them. I am not ashamed and this is why I want a good answer to come back with.

I went to a four year college, but if I hadn't I'd just tell them "I tried blank university, and found that it wasn't for me and now i do blah, blah blah."

any good school is an excellent opportunity for advanced knowledge, whether Ivy League, State, or Community level. How you choose to take advantage of that opportunity determines what you take away from it. I know a lot of very successful people who attended community college. And I know some Subway sandwich artists from "better" colleges. And, finally, and sadly, I've met some crack heads from an Ivy League school. Success is what you have and how you got it (material, physical, emotional, etc). Schools provide you the tools to get there, but you have to use them.
I hope this wasn't too round about in coming to my point: People's opinion of your college shouldn't matter, as long as you grew while you were there-even if it was just barber college.

You have no reason to ashamed. Lots of successful people did not finish or even attend college.
In his junior year, Bill Gates left Harvard to devote his energies to Microsoft.
