I'm glad you're here. It's nice to see a question from you and hear that you're up and about. If it weren't for people like you, polls & surveys would languish and die.

We NEED you!

Well, you could have my life... Things are rough at times and often never seem to make sense on where our lives are headed. I am at the biggest fork in my life right now and either way I go people I love will be hurt... as will I. What we have to realize is that everything we do leads to a different outcome. If, lets say, I did not take the job I am in now then I would not be in the situation I am with my girlfriend because I would have never met her. On the flip side, I would still be working construction and unhappy and without the choice to do what I am contemplating. Sooo, my past decisions have given to me this fork in my life and I must choose soon. Things get better and if I had not made decision earlier in my life I would not be at this hard spot, I would however be unhappy like I was before. Now I have a chance to be happy but I just have to pick which way I want to be happy. Rich and sucessful or with a woman who makes me feel alive and a new opprotunity to suceed somewhere else. I hope that helped you if not then go read some jokes on ebaumsworld.com:-P Take care

How about a joke, courtesy of Pradeep Nair:

A Programmer and an Engineer are sitting next to each other on a long flight from LA to NY. The Programmer leans over to the Engineer and asks if he would like to play a fun game. The Engineer just wants to take a nap, so he politely declines and rolls over to the window to catch a few winks.
The Programmer persists and explains that the game is real easy and a lotta fun. He explains "I ask you a question, and if you don't know the answer, you pay me $5. Then you ask me a question, and if I don't know theanswer, I'll pay you $5."
Again, the Engineer politely declines and tries to get to sleep.
The Programmer, now somewhat agitated, says, "OK, if you don't know the answer you pay me $5, and if I don't know the answer, I'll pay you $50!"
This catches the Engineer's attention, and he sees no end to this torment unless he plays, so he agrees to the game. The Programmer asks the first question. "What's the distance from the earth to the moon?"
The Engineer doesn't say a word, but reaches into his wallet, pulls out a five dollar bill and hands it to the Programmer. Now, it's the Engineer's turn. He asks the Programmer "What goes up a hill
with three legs, and comes down on four?"
The Programmer looks up at him with a puzzled look. He takes out his laptop computer and searches all of his references. He taps into the Airphone with his modem and searches the net and the Library of Congress. Frustrated, he sends e-mail to his co-workers -- all to no avail.
After about an hour, he wakes the Engineer and hands him $50. The Engineer politely takes the $50 and turns away to try to get back to sleep.
The Programmer, more than a little miffed, shakes the Engineer and asks
"Well, so what's the answer?"
Without a word, the Engineer reaches into his wallet, hands the Programmer $5, and turns away to get back to sleep.

absolutely. You are here. That choice alone has made alot of people happy, myself included. You have done alot of things in your life and you need to look at some of your accomplishment, everything from completeing kindergarten to the last report you finished. You ought to stand in front of the mirror and list some of those things and anyone you have helped anywhere along the way of life. It can be things as simple as making someone a meal or sending someone a card, even smiling and saying hello.
Next you should look in the mirror and say there is an accomplished person, a loving person, a loved person, and I will let you go on from there!

If you don't love and appreciate yourself - no one else will either. So look at yourself and say "I'M GREAT!" and always remember - the past if over - the future will take care of itself....Live for Today! Do something good for someone else - even if they don't appreciate it - you will know in your heart you have done something that makes you a better person!

You have more points than I do!

Suddenly I'm depressed and feel unappreciated.

I appreciate you! i don't know you but i'm sure their are people that appreciate you. Theres alot of bad stuff going on in the world. Appreciate what you have now..it could all be taken away tomorrow. What if you had just gotten the news that you had a disease that you were gonna die of..(like so many people rightnow) How would you be feeling then. Lets just thank god(hopefully) that everything is good right now. Cheer up...everythings gonna be alright!

Hey at least you're reaching out and being honest about your feelings. There are people here that when down on their own life, will spew venom and make sad little comments to put others down. They're trying to feel better by creating sadness, they don't know that they're hypocrites and they are just mean and miserable.
Knowing that you are not one of those people should make you feel a whole lot better.

Sure, Perk it up a little and quit yerh whining already. Feeling blue wastes time and I've found for myself that excuses to pout or mope keep me from actually having fun elsewhere in life.

Things can always be worse. If you are healthy, have a job, family, friends, home, you have it all.
Some people have none of these. Call someone you know. Or just take yourself for a cup of coffee and enjoy a book. Take care, hope you cheer up.
Oh, there is nothing wrong with feeling sorry for yourself, just don't let it take over your life.
