Think Giambi, Big Mack, Sosa, Sheffield, Pudge Rodrigez, Brett Boone, and all the others who have been outright accused and some proven, why is Bonds the bad guy over them for this? Is it because he excelled the most in the steriod era or is it just because he is a jerk to begin with?

Everybody talks about hitters taking steriods, no one talks about pitchers taking them. There has been pitcher busted for steriods then hitters. Maybe that is way there is no 20 game winner this season, the first time ever in baseball!!!!!

Sometimes people get the wrong impression about great baseball players who are Black....in fact about great players who are Black in any sport. They seem to have the impression that Black players, more than white players, OWE their fans some special or elevated type of respect.
(And this is very true so don't deny it. And by the way, I am not Black, but I know a lot of Black people and I am aware of how they feel.)
Bonds is a great baseball player. Period. It hasn't been PROVEN that he took anything. This is mere speculation. That's ALL it is. That is not to say that he was right if he did take them. But then again, it wan't and isn't right for other players to CONTINUE taking steroids either, when people know they are, yet continue to IGNORE it.
Here we have arrogant, bellicose, superior-minded, pugnacious, individuals on all of the baseball teams, in fact, in EVERY sport. Some of us like these players whether they exhibit these traits or not. Some of us don't give a darn about anything but watching a good game.
Everone's body does NOT work the same way. Drugs affect each person in a different way than it affects another. For all we know these "steroids" results regarding many different athletes could well be affected by the use of so-called legitimate drugs that bring about positive results.

But I'll tell you. Everyone wants to perform at their best. In every aspect of life. I mean here we have millions of men using a performance enhancing drug every day.
Why?
Because they want to "perform" better.
So we have millions of other men, taking a drug in order to perform better.
So, they're 'phonies' also

and the drug - the performance enhancement drug? is called
Viagara.

It's because his use of performance-enhancing drugs skewed the game itself. Before taking the drugs, Bonds was already a superstar player - prior to beginning the use of such drugs (after the '98 season, according to Game of Shadows), he already had 3 MVP awards, 8 All-Star game appearance, and 406 home runs. This was not a player who needed to improve his performance level to stay in the majors or even to be a star player: he was already playing at the highest level of the sport. If he wasn't the best player in the game, he was certain in the top 10. Now, take one of the best players and give him an unfair advantage over other players. This has the effect of making him better than any player could be who followed the rules.

Most of the other players linked with steroids were not among the elite players of the game - any use on their part, at best, made star players out of above-average ones. While it skewed the game, it did not create players who performed at a level that made true competition impossible.

This is only my opinion, Because he flat out denies it and I know there have been others that have as well... That being said, Your assumptions are correct he is a JERK actually the correct word is D!CK. How many players insist on having a custom recliner in the clubhouse even though every one else has a normal hard back model... Barroid does nothing for the community That puts the bread on his table.......Bonds is the T.O. of the M.L.B.............

I agree that people should lay off Bonds, when there's hundreds of ball-players either on undetectable steroids, or growth hormone.

Have you seen this player Luke Scott for the Astros, hitting .385? What about David Wright? Ryan Howard? Pujols? Matt Holliday? Pedro? The Unit?

What about Jerome Bettis, who had some of his best years after the age of 30? What about Roethlisberger? What about T.O.?

What about all the track athletes of the past 20 years?

Read "Game of Shadows". I rented it from the Library.

Bonds gets the brunt about it because he has always treated fans and media like crap. Giambi publicly aplogized and is trying to make it right. As far as teh others, well they aren't famous enough to hate. McGuire brought people back to baseball, and well, Sammy was always a wannabe

weird and wonderful. The jury would desire to agree that he obstructed justice yet would desire to not agree that he lied. because of the fact the jury hung on the different 3 counts, the U. S. attorney can re-indict Bonds on those 3 counts. i became somewhat particular that he could be acquitted. i did not see 12 ordinary followers from the city and county of San Francisco convicting him. might a brand new york county jury convict A Rod of comparable expenditures?

I think it's the way he just doesn't seem to respect the sport. He has always come off with a "better than you" attitude. He thinks to highly of himself. Never seems to humble himself, so others attempt to do it for him. All of the others were fan favorites. People still like them, even though they screwed up. Bond's was never really a favorite. And it has nothing to do with Bonds' being black. I don't care. Black, ehite chinease, korean; if you act like bonds, you're a pecker head. Period, and, Mholhol002, I don't take Viagra.

Well I think they are all pretty lousey for doing it, but like you said- Bonds IS a jerk to begin with. He just doesn't have a good attitude, especially when baseball players are supposed to be someone kids can look up to!
