No, sorry, it’s made of Iron and Nickel; which would probably burn your turn quite badly if you survived to get down there or tried to eat it. Try checking a piece of iron; it’s the solid version but you should get the idea of the flavour.

no, no it doesn't. while science has many guess as to just what is down there, it is agreed to be very high in pressure, whihc would mean it wouldn't be chewy.
