I have always prefered the sound of a crispy vinyl (that's a record) over the digital CD.
Also, the audio tape is another format I prefer over the audio CD not because of sound quality (1/4" tapes have awful sound) but rather for their efficiency: when you listen to a CD in your car and you go over a speed bump, the CD will skip, whereas the cassette will keep playing as if nothing happened.
Old vinyl records are still a part of my collection. I also have 3 turntable, and my friend Spike (a real bloke) also has two "1200" Technics turntables on which we play amazing vinyls that rock the party like it was 2999!
Cheers!

do not difficulty about what it appears like on the computing gadget audio imagine or ur telephone, reason when I list with that or my sister does then it continually sounds garbage. i imagine it could be the regularly happening of the mic, or perhaps the interference. in case you had to really list professionally and pay interest to the way you're voice actually sounds, then the only way is two list in a recording studio. yet i understand from my own experience that attempting to get an accessible recording studio isn't worry-free! besides, you suggested that you're boyfriend likes listening to you sing, and he would not favor u 2 sing 4 him if u weren't that sturdy, would he? So don't be discouraged through the computing gadget audio or telephone recording, coz they are continually muffled! wish I Helped!!! xxx sturdy success! ;)

The quality of the sound is better on audio CDs; however, I have to say, I like listening to records more than CD-s you get that old-school vibe. ; )

I would have to say 50/50.
On the one hand CD's have far better sound quality, but on the other hand they scratch extremely easily.

It's a matter of opinion I guess; if you like crackles and hisses that's your kink, so go for it. As for me I prefer clear sound.
