Like for instance, if they had 24 hour sports back when Babe Ruth played, with all of his off field antics, would the nation hate him like they do Bonds or TO? He was arrested several times, beat up umpires, was a alcoholic, but yet an american hero. Which i think he is, but with the spin of ESPN and the like, they have to talk about something all day, and that something at times ends up being character attacks and slander and overuse of opinions instead of just reporting the news. Do you think its gotten out of control?

People like Skip Bayless on Cold Pizza and the Around The Horn guys make a living off of this stuff, and i think at times just let them play ball. But i might be alone, and if i am i'd like to know, i am to the point i hope TO scores a million TDs and that Bonds breaks the record jsut so that they can all be more mad about sports, it might jsut make me laugh a bit. Am i way off for this point of view?

i agree on certain aspects of your Q,but as for bonds,he sorta cheated with the whole steroids deal, and babe was all hot dogs and beers,at the most when bonds has his stats recorded, they should have an Astrix explaining the enhancements and supplements he used to boost his hitting, what the Media seems to miss though is the fact that you do have to have skill to even hit the ball at the right moment for a big play, and no supplement can help with that.and as for to....he loves the publicity,he will be remembered for a long time, after he's long gone out of the sport,he loves the attention he gets, and cares less if it bad or good, sport news is as you say, just need to write about something, and its up to the fans to judge these guys, people still love bonds and to so i would say that the media has some say,but sport fans are always going to think for themselves and use their own judgment....
