missed period for 2 months had pill to start... do I start counting from the first day of brown or the first day of red, I know this is gross but not sure how else to explain...Im trying get preg. and the doctor said to start counting the period is day 1 then get to day 10-15 are the preg times.

Your doctor is right. You begin counting toward ovulation from day one of your last menstrual period, regardless of the color. However, it won't necessarily be 10 to 15 days til you're fertile. That's where the variation in women occurs. It's always 14 days AFTER ovulating that your next period starts if you're not pregnant, but how many days til you do ovulate varies widely from woman to woman.

Here ya go hun... Webmd is a great resorce for all kinds of articles and what not. The first is an article the second is a calculator you put in the day of your last period and a few other numbers and it tells you when you'll start ovulating.

this is what I did... on a calender i put down what day Istarted and my cycles are always every 28 days so.. count up till the day you are supposed to start and then 10-14 days after that day is when you are ovulating, REmember 10-14 days after you are supposed to start, I got pregnant sooo easy like that I hope I helped...10-15 days after you stopped havin your period

start by counting the first day as one. the best time to you know, is day 13, 14 & 15. hope this helps, it worked for me.

The day you begin your period is the first day (Day #1) of your cycle.

from my own experience and from what i have read, they say to count from the first day you see RED, not brown!!!!
i have read a lot about this stuff, you can find out a lot on babycenter.com! they have a lot of chat rooms where you can get all the information you can imagine!!!

This is what helped me better understand my cycle and when i would be fertile.

Go to http://www.mymonthlycycles.com and put in your period info and it will calculate when you will be fertile and ovulating.

It is a Free and VERY HELPFUL website.....
