Yeppers... I read the books the first time in about 1975... and every other year after that... Actually have read them now 24 times.

It's a story that works for some, and doesn't for others...

I jumped for joy and danced when I heard that they were to be produced as a feature film...

And the movies were WONDERFUL !! As someone suggested... watch them in sequence... in one long sitting.

Depends LOTR confuses some people (like my wife). I just love a good story (particullarly old myths and legends) and LOTR is a great story but you can't watch just one. I have the extended editions which are better that the theatrical versions.

Not everyone likes the sci-fi/fantasy genre but for some films that no company would produce but New Line that raked in more money than some nations GDP and tied Titanic and Ben-Hur for most oscars it can't be that bad.

YES i really liked those movies, The thing that i like the most are the characters and the bond they have with each other. You should really try to watch the first movie cuz in that one explains the whole story and how the other movies are gonna go. In my opinion you are missing out one of the english literature classics.

Lord of the Rings is timeless, you are missing out, but that's cool.

You should watch all of them, in a row...

I'm assuming you haven't read the books so you should watch the special editions. They're longer, but give you so much more story.

Lord of the Rings trilogy was awesome. I heard that they might even be making "The Hobbit" which is the prequel to LOTR.

Oh, yeah you're missing out. It's fantasy, love, mystery unfolding all around, excitement and honor. You'll love it. Just don't watch them out of order.

They are good movies but since I have kind of a thing about heights, some of the scenes bother me that way.
