It is all in how you look at it and how the people involved define friendship. It is best not to try to apply outdated standards of conduct and morality to today's youth. They face challenges and social and cultural influences we would have thought impossible a few years ago. Best to confine your rules to you and the people with whom you deal or you will end up that old man at the end of the road screaming about the good old days and how kids today don't appreciate anything. Do you remember what you thought of that person when you were young?

When choosing "true" friendships...set standards.
There is a difference in being friendly with someone, and true friendship.
In order to have "true" friendships, you must be willing to give of yourself, and you also have the right to expect the same in return.
It often takes time to develop "true" long lasting friendships.
Teenagers sometimes take their friends for granted, but as they move into adulthood, they realize how important it is to have "true" friendships.
You will make many friends in your life, and if you have just 2-3 "true" life long friendships...count yourself blessed.
Good Luck and remember..you are your own "best" friend..so love yourself....your one of a kind!

i agree with u.... true friends are those who help u in need, do not stop keeping in touch and never forget about uor ignore u... that is so weird that even friends that everyone has known for ages, since a liitle kid, r leaving u and dissapoints u very fast and it really hurts.... who knows how can u find friends now? my opinion is to look for the person that'll have the same tastes, a bit similarity with ur personality, etc. that way there won't be a lot of arguements about misunderstanding each other...

I agree with u. Today young people are more selfish because 2day competetion is in always. HONEST peoples r being backward in all ways. HONESTY has no more value. Frankly look around u, the cheaters r there getting ever success. There r exceptional also. But this is the real fact. So, one frnd is there not in frnds need but in their own need. He/She had 2 become successful anyway.
