We bought a new house and the dishwasher just kind of falls forward when you open the door. It is not attached anywhere. I assume you attach it to the Granite counter, but don't know the right way to do it. Also, has developed another issue where the power goes out when it runs. I assume that is related to the fact that is not mounted properly.
Thanks!

the washers we install have a flange on the side to attach the washer to the cabinet and then we install the granite.......try adjusting the legs if the gap is not big and push the washer up to the granite top but before u do it put some silicon caulk at the edge so that when u adjust the legs up that the top of the washer pushes the caulk into the bottom of the granite....

I would check with the manufacturer. Drilling into the granite is not a good idea. You will probably crack it. There may be some kind of attachment you can get that allows you to attach it from the sides of the washer. The electrical part shouldn't be caused from the installation. The circuit breaker may be bad or the circuit is overloaded. When you turn on the washer, it will over load the circuit and it will kick out. See if anything else is on the circuit. You can do this by turning off the breaker and see if any other appliance goes out. Good Luck!!

If you don't want to screw the tabs at the top front of the dishwasher into the granite then bend the tabs upward so the fit tight against the granite then put some liquid nails or other strong construction adhesive (Goop works) between the bracket and the granite. Allow a day to dry and I guarantee it won't ever move again.

If you have an upscale dishwasher (eg. Kitchenaid, Asko, Meile etc.) then you should have holes on the outer front of the dishwasher to install it to the cabinets (When you open the door to the dishwasher look at the front sidewalls in front of the gasket. usually there will be little rubber cap the cover the holes. They are usually about 4 inches down from the top of the dishwasher.) Do not drill into your counter top as you might crack it.

Power problem - check you circuit breaker it might be bad. Also it should be the only thing on the circuit.

You can drill holes into the bottom using a concrete drill bit. However, I would just leave the dishwasher free floating. That way you don't run the risk of ruining your expensive counter top, and if the dishwasher needs repairing you can quickly get at the problem.
