I recently found out that I'm pregnant. I haven't told the father yet, but we had already decided to get married before it happened. This wouldn't seem like a big problem but for the fact that he's in the military and will be leaving for a year tour in Iraq in March- right around the time the baby will be born. How do you tell a guy that they're going to have a child that they won't get to see for the first year of it's life?

Awwww, that would be hard, but it is the right thing to do, and he should know and will be very happy I am sure.

There may even be a possibility of being re assigned if told soon enough, you never know right?

Congrats and best of luck

Be honest. If you love each other enough to get married, endure a year apart for the military, and make a baby together ... then you love each other enough to be up-front with each other. When he gets home today, talk to him. "Honey, I wasn't feeling quite right so I went to the doctor today. The doctor did some tests and I found out that I'm prgnant. We're going to have a baby, and the due date is about ______, 2008."

He has the right to know. You are both in love so its not that difficult to tell. Things will work out fine. Congratulations and best wishes.

Tell him he now has bigger responsibilities than fighting in a completely pointless war. Force him to quit the army to be a good father.

Don't say we have to talk, that implicates something bad is about to happen. Just come straight out and say it. This should be something joyful. No matter how in convienent this is to you or your lifestyle. It'll be worth it.

if your both mature enough you will deal through it. It will be hard I cant imagine what your going through but constantly remind your child of his/her daddy while they grow and show pictures. he will have alot of catching up to do when he gets back.. My god be with you and your family.
