for a teenager,i'm very much an athletic. plays basketball n runs like a horse. so while i got my hairs n muscles pumped up by my testesterone in my body, my bone refuses to lengthen.my height's in an inevitable way affecting my self-esteem, leading to a self-imposed reclusive personality. i noe, i shud go out n smell the fresh air but ppl around me r tall n for goodness sake, my prom date's 3 inches taller than i am, which i believe is the reason why we never got together well.so i really appreciate it if someone can help me out here, i'm simply looking for a final glimpse of hope before i go into the accept-yourself-the-way-u-r thing.

GET REAL BUD!

U still have time to grow ! and besides, that is not important. That is not important at all ! Don't let the culture of appearance to get to you. You inner beauty and *tallness* is much more important. Grow that!

If it is such an issue for you , there is a medical procedure, ask your doctor for it. But it is very expensive.

Good luck my friend! And do not forget , if you have a big heart it does not matter if you have a small body.

You still have 3 more years to grow. I gained 1 inch when I was 21 so there's hope for you!

Generally, it is thought that growth continues until your 21st year. Obviously genetically you are pre-programmed for a certain height, but a good diet and the exercise you obviously get will allow you to fulfill your height potential.

Finally, speaking as a girl, although right now you may feel that your height is a disadvantage with the opposite sex, you will do best with women if you have self confidence (which is different from being cocky) and let themsee who you are. In the end, that's what will get you a nice relationship.

Hey, if you are only 18, you still have time to grow! Some things that stunt growth:
lifting weights at a young age
bad diet/not eating protein (meat can help)
unhealthy habbits in general.

BUT, if you are super vain and have a **** load of money there are ways to get your legs elongated. but it's painful and takes a long time.

Also, wear dress shoes more often. They can give you an extra inch in the heel. Flip flops and sandals won't give you anything.

Date shorter girls too. That's no big deal!

Sorry to disappoint you, but height is purely genetic. There is nothing you can do to make yourself taller. Believe me, if there were, I'd be the first on that bandwagon LOL...I'm 5'0. But you will be fine! My hubby is only 5'7...we were made for each other. You will find the right girl one day who will fit you just perfectly. Don't worry--ppl who matter don't mind...and people who mind, don't matter. (Dr. Seuss) You are fine the way you are; that's how God made you! And He doesn't make mistakes. Yes, it's time for the "accept-yourself-the-way-u-r" thing...but it's not so bad! I'll bet you're more worried about it than your friends and loved ones are. :)

My husband grew about 3 inches from the age of about 17 to 22. There's still time.

Get some human growth hormone before it's too late.
Injections from a doctor not the commercial stuff. It's not cheep but it does work.See if your insurance will cover it.

Doctors have been curing this in children for years now.

There are still dwarfs, but no more midgets because of hgh.

One cause of this is when children lift weights before puberty.

well you should, there is nothing at the age of 18 that will make you get taller. And if you smoke, your just going to keep shrinking. so, dont smoke. and love yourself a lot of girls like short guys, like im only 5'2 so you would be tall to me, lol. Wait and get out of high school. high school is NOT the real world, wait till you meet some real women. H.S. girls are young, dumb, and full of.... well,. anyways.... self esteem really atracts girls, not over ego'd but just well mannered and respect sense of themself. I dated a guy who was 5'6 for over two years. I see nothing wrong with "shorties" <3 all girls are different. <3

I doubt you will find a doctor that will do this, since being 5 ft 5 in is not bad, have your legs broken then stretched with pins. You will be stuck in a hospital bed for months but once you are able to walk again you will be taller.

You might have one more growing spurt to go! Look within your family to see how your genetic makeup is....are the men in your family short/tall/average? Honestly, I've always had a thing for short guys....alot of girls do. I don't see it as short, I see it as "compact". Solid. Every guy I dated in high school was shorter than me (I'm 5'11" now, but was around 5'7" in high school), and my husband is slightly shorter than me. Please don't let your height make your life miserable! Guys like you, when they train for bodybuilding and such, have a good advantage because of their compact muscles! Just try to find things that accentuate it instead of hide it!

Get 2 people to hold both of your arms, and 2 people to hold both of your legs, and have them tie all ends to the bumpers of 4 cars going 4 different directions, and at the same time, have them floor it on the gas!!!

YOU'LL BE 7 FEET TALL IN NO TIME!
