Sure, if your Petty and small. I mean, if you get off on conquering somebody then having the last word is icing on the cake. But if you want to get to the truth an argument can help you get there but only if you are sincere and respectful of what the other person has to say.

I guess my answer to your question is no. I spent 35 years or so being all hot and bothered to persuade people to my way of thinking, to win the point. But, looking back, it's doubtful that I ever really convinced anybody of anything. Anyway, I gave up trying very hard. Now I state my position on a take it or leave it basis, and don't care who has the last word. I do still firmly believe that the fools are making a tragic mistake by not immediately being swayed to my point of view, but that's their loss.

It depends on if i feel like the person I am in the argument with is trying to get the last word, then I intentionally dont let them

Most of the time..Actually I do all the time but my husband don't hear what I say when I go out of the room, So I let him think that some of the time he gets the last word in..lol
