it is the lighting when they are in the light they may get dark and when they are not in the light they will be lighter. it is nothing to worry about. you want to make sure that you have the temp at around 84-86 because if they are not warm enough they will not eat much and they can get sick. keep it warm on one side and cool on the other side keep that side around 75. i have 2 beardies and they are about 1 1/2 feet long and i had them for about 1yr. they will grow fast if you feed them every day. the less you feed them slower they will grow and that is not good because that can stunt the growth.. give him crickets every other day and give fruits and veggies every day. you will see how much he will eat in one feeding and you can increase his food intake. also make sure that you put his vitamins on his food and his crickets, because if you don't, they can get bone deseases and it is hard to cure them. good luck with your little guy.

My best guess is that it is a mixed breed. Are you positive it is a pure blooded bearded dragon? It sounds to me like it is taking on some of the characteristics of a black dragon. You should do some tests on it to see if it has any black dragon blood in it. First: Try putting a few drops of hydrochloric acid on its hide. If it seems to be unaffected, or not as affected as it should, chances are is has some black dragon blood in it. (Black dragons are immune to acid) And what about its diet? What do you feed it? If it seems to have a very strong preference for aquatic creatures, or it dunks its food in water first, it has some black dragon blood in it.
But honestly, it may just be the type of breed of your reptile. There are many different color types available, just depending on the breders you got it from. It is normal.

Its everyday. Bearded dragons shed particularly generally and this would effect in epidermis colouring. otherwise, your dragon could be ill. if your lizard would not shed, it heavily have some thing incorrect with it! yet another tip, do not shop touching the spiky pouch whilst it inflates it. notwithstanding it could look frightening, the spines are easily mushy.

when they get dark, it means that they are too cold. try adding heat to his tank. When they get lighter, it means they are warm. The reason they get dark is because the sun is absorbed by dark colors better.

they usually get darker for one of two reasons. 1. he's not getting enough heat from the bulb or 2. he's ready to shed his skin. but if your still not sure i'd take him to see a vet and they can advise you on the best course to take.
