Studies have shown that nicotine replacement has a poor rate of success. The best bet is to use an herbal replacement. I recommend Hooch Snuff. You can get it at http://www.hoochsnuff.com/.

Since you have been doing it for 33 years, you should probably try the titration method, where you mix 50/50 for starters and then increase the amount of herbal and decrease the amount of tobacco.

I quit using this method after 20 years.

Good Luck to You!

You can not sacrifice gutkha at once. You need to go step by step. First step is to avoid gutkha by isolating yourself This you can do by some outing/ Course like Vipashyana/Keeping Roza, or when unfortunately hospitalized, etc. Second step is you shall change your company. Try to be in contact with children/ infants/Pets which will not allow you to think of Gutkha. Third one is you try any alternative like Meswak, Ilaichi, etc. Also you need to change your diet. Strictly follow Non cooked food, i.e. Milk & Curd, Salads & Fruits. Eat till your capacity is ended. I was able to leave my 12 years old habits within two months, and last five years I got 40%weight gain & now I am dieting for the same! But I advice that please do not declare that you are about to leave gutkha. Declare after six months from your last intake. This will preserve you from the Friends.

Dont try to abandon your long life habit abruptly. You can not do it and your body will not allow it.

Take tobaco as usual but for few days add very little amount of 'SONF' and make it a habit.

After 15 days or so add more Sonf and reduce very little amount of tobaco.

When your body doesnt show any sign of reaction ,start reducing the amount of tobacco very slowly by adding more of Sonf.

Remember this process should take at least 3-6 months and one day you will be taking the "SONF" only.

Good Luck....

Congrats on your choice to quit! Now comes the hard part, quitting. Have you looked into the all natural chew such as ginger root? You can surf the net and find the all natural chews to keep your mouth happy as you quit. As for the nicotine withdrawl it is more dfficult than if you were a smoker. Its a totally different rush than smokers feel so your best bet would be to try the gum (when your not chewing the natural stuff) or lollipops--patches may work, a low dose step system might be in order to help you with the withdrawl. Things to expect are dizziness, irratability, cravings and shaking. These are to be expected, if you feel you need more help look in your community for help, I am sure you can find a program and support system to help you along your way to being nicotine free!

Good luck, I'm proud of you, its a very hard thing to do, but you can do it!

Go talk to your doctor, he can point you in the right direction. And maybe even give some medication like Wellbutrin you can use with the patch.

Take up heroin, once you've switched addictions and left the tobacco behind it's much easier to kick heroin.
