There are 46 different towns in Spain named San Pedro. It would be easier to answer you correctly if you could specify which one you meant by adding the name of the province it is in...

This is the one I know....It's San Pedro de Alcántara, in Malaga on the Costa del Sol:

San Pedro de Alcántara is part of Marbella, although it is its own township, it depends on Marbella for certain things...
It has lovely beaches, a small old town center, and is very close to Puerto Banús, which is the tourist area to visit "par excellence" on the Costa del Sol.
Marbellas town center is within a 10 to 15 minute drive from the center of San Pedro.
Mijas is the next town east of Marbella (Mijas Costa is where I live)...
San Pedro is also just a little over a 1 hours drive from Algeciras and Gibraltar... and about 45 minutes from Málaga (where the airport is). You've plenty of things to do and see...Ronda is another hours drive. Mijas Pueblo, 45 minutes... And many more...There is a nature park called SELWO just west of San Pedro, if you like wild animals in semi-liberty. There is an equestrian school with spanish riding school exhibitions in Estepona, just a little further past Selwo.
If that's the San Pedro you meant, hope this answers your question!
