I am over heating all the time. Is there something that I should or shouldn't be eating in my diet?

I tried several "natural" remedies, but nothing helped my hot flashes except for hormone replacement. I've been taking it for ten years now. I researched the risk, and it is really quite small. It's a risk I'm willing to take, because I had 40 to 50 hot flashes a day, and they were intense. My grandmother had hot flashes into her 80s.

I know there is a lot of controversy about estrogen and increases in breast cancer. There are natural soy estrogen supplements that do not have this same marked increase in breast cancer rates. I am almost 32. I was diagnosed perimenopausal at 29, early of course, but my mother was in the same boat. I was told as was my mother that not treating the lower estrogen levels can lead to early onset of osteoporosis. I discussed the natural alternative. My doctor said it was safe to try.
