Generally 45% less water.
Even better, it spins out so efficiently that you use less energy in the dryer.
The 1st time I used mine, I wasn't sure if I had even turned the washer on because the clothes were just damp!

According to a salesman, it uses 1/3 less. But who can believe salesmen.

dunno but it is less.
also to consider is: the front loader wrings more water out of clothes so they are drier before they are dried.
