I've been smoking for like 8 years, and totally like smoking pot. Everyone tries to make a fight against making it illegal in our city, when cali law states it is legal.

My fight....Has anyone ever overdosed from pot!? NO! and how many people have you heard of getting alcohol poisening?! That's legal! So what's the big fuss?!

Lol the common question upon stoners. **** happens. I, too, smoke but live in Miami, Florida. It's not legal here at all not for medical purposes either. I think if it helps cancer patients or whatever type of patients it should totally be legal. And, I also think it should be legalized for personal use. I agree 100% on the alcohol statement.

VIVA LA POT ;)

As a rehabilitated addict, having quit everything from Heroin to cigarettes, I understand your reasoning. It does seem harmless when compared to other more immediately harmful drugs. I actually spent 2 years in a residential rehab facility called Daytop Village and I graduated, and have been clean from hard drugs for over 25 years.

About 5 years after graduating, I started smoking pot again. True, it isn't addictive, doesn't make you violent or criminally insane or anything like that. I smoked on and off for the next bunch of years, quitting in 2001 when entering school for computer science.

Know what I found? I came to the conclusion that pot had instilled in me a permanent laziness that was harder to shake than long term effects of kicking the H! Now, 5 years later I still have to really kick my own a'ss to fight the laziness bug.

That's my own thing, but I've seen it in others so I know it isn't bogus. I too don't see why smoking should be illegal, I don't see what the big deal is but for myself, it isn't a good thing. But if it doesn't interfere with your life in any way, then you should be allowed to do it if you want. But in a society that is allegedly free, if you try to get your cheeseburger done rare at Denny's, they won't do it for you. The correlation: Government interfering in our lives "for our own good". Stupid and unnecessary; the resources expended would be better used on other more pressing matters.

I live in California & I can tell you what "all the fuss" is about. It's about saving lives & keeping our communities safe from the abusers of legal & illegal drugs! We opened a Pandora's Box when our state allowed the sale & use of medical marijuana. We now have illegal dispenseries popping up across the streets from schools & the local law enforcement agencies must use precious time & resources to close them down & police the ones that are in operation. Just last week a man & his son were gunned down in their home in Bakersfield, California when robbers came to steal their medical marijuana. The son died & his father remains in critical condition. The marijuana isn't the problem. The people who are criminals are the problem & innocent people are becoming victims of this "medicinal argument". Let's face it, the world is filled with too many greedy hard core drug addicts that are planning on making you medical marijuana users their next victims. The safety of the surrounding community have to outweigh your needs for medicinal purposes. The hard drug people like to hide behind the soft drug peoples apron strings because it carries a lighter sentence if they are caught. This whole thing is just not working out here in California & I don't think other towns will be following suit if it goes bad here! Are you willing to die for a few ounces of medical marijuana? You should keep it a secret & stay safe!

I'm for medical uses. It would help my father who has Parkinson's, and Lou Gehrig's Disease. It has been know to help those with Glaucoma also. Because it slows down the firing of electrical impulses in the brain, it would help stop my fathers uncontrollable shaking. And ease his everyday pain. All of the pills he takes don't help, he's now up to 23 different kinds.
So yes I'm for it. and yes I've smoked pot in the past.
But if your in a job field that requires concentration, like a surgeon or child care no way. Wait until your alone.

I am for medical marijuana only. Pot is bad for people if there is no medical reason, particularly boys and men. It can make them impotent and lower testesterone levels and fill up the brain with THC which has unknown effects for a long time.

I am For legalizing Marijuana because it has many significant positive effects on helping many ailments such as: for HIV patients, pain reliver, helps gain an appetite, and so on. But the only thing i fear is that after it is made legal it might get abused in using.

I believe it has it's medicinal purposes and smoked in "a safety zone" I don't see the harm in it. I also believe too much of a good thing can be bad. Me, personally, it puts me right to sleep so what's the point if I can't enjoy it. I made my husband quit smoking because he goes into a coma when he's stoned. He can't function in "any department". For me and mine, we just say no. For you and yours, go right ahead if it works for you....

i am not against marijuana at all, unless it is abused and used when driving or taking care of children. That is why we should have disignated marijuana cafes where they hold you in there till yer fine and they can all have a trippy time together.

God put that beautiful plan on this planet, and there is a reason for it.

Smoking pot for eight years hasn't helped you at all. Your question is full of errors. You misspelled medical and poisoning, while having spell-check available to you at the push of a button. Furthermore, your phrase "everyone fights against making it illegal" should be "everyone fights against making it legal". So, tell us again what a great drug marijuana is.
