you must be forgetting that
a) no country is perfect
b) every country has freedom of whatever issues
c) every country, mainly those that have a spot on the world stage, makes mistakes -some of which other nations dont like
d) the fact that now we have a president who might have made some mistakes, doesnt mean you have to be a doomsayer or totally pessimistic. every country has had good and bad leaders
e) every country has had good and bad times
f) when a country has a bad period, it has the opportunity to mature a bit more
g) even small "maturation" and problem solving processes can take a long time, dont expect America to become a perfect country tomorrow
h) change takes time, but to become better takes longer time.
i) you cannot do everything, and there will always be those that dislike you
what Ive mentioned shouldnt be anything new to anyone with life experience. so why so many cry-babies complaining ALL THE TIME, instead of doing something constructive?

trudi, bout the sueing, judges now have the right to throw away cases like that. its been in law for about 2 years i believe, but before this came into effect many people tried desperately to sue because they knew that afterwar they would have their cases thrown out.

to "oohbother", whats your problem with the word "whatever"? dont look too deep into it, its not poetry, dont get offended that easily. if you dont like America or its history, and you think it cant improve, then leave.
for those saying im making excuses, do I always have to write a "disclaimer" after all of my questions to make it clear to you that though people complain (and theyre allowed to complain), it seems as though they are building up a hatred for America and losing hope in it, because they do nothing but focus on the bad, and they just talk themselves into taking the stance against America all the time. instead of standing against it, blaming, pointing fingers, try actually accepting the situation and do something about it. its ok to complain, but then DO SOMETHING!!! if you dont, we could call you COMPLACENCY!!!

Im sorry I wasnt aware that maturing was at the expense of innocents who did nothing except go to work so that they could pay their taxes. Taxes isnt that interesting? I seem to remember that their was alot of angry people who threw the tea overboard because of greedy politicians who lined their pocket books with their hard earned money. Did we forget that too? Wasnt it our forefathers who wrote a little thing called the Decleration Of Independence. Independent from what I ask? And isnt this the very document that our governement today changes and revises and even tries to annilats some of it's standards. Yes I know it is such a free country that we live in. So free that were just not sure when the next time we go to work that just maybe the sacrificial building used for oil gain will be the one you work in. So sorry for all of you people who lost loved ones, in something that could have been prevented, but hey we live in America somebody had to get rich. I wish you well

Although many of those points have nothing to do with whether or not we are free, I agree with you to some extent. Unfortunately some practices by a government can create problems that take decades to resolve. The biggest problem I see with this current administration is the demonetization of opposing ideas. We have a president and vice president that have actually said "it is unacceptable to think that what we are doing can be compared to what the terrorists are doing". While I disagree that there is a comparison between the US and the insurgents, I vehemently disagree with the President. It is acceptable for a citizen of the US to think whatever he or she wishes to think. This administration has branded those who think differently as unpatriotic. This belief has permeated through a large part of our society. This belief and our battle to allow some forms of torture (what else can you call water boarding and induced hypothermia?) have done and will continue to do real damage.

Many of us "cry babies" are doing something constructive. We are speaking out. Just as the constitution of the United States of America gives us the right to do. Just as citizens of this country have done for over two centuries, effecting positive change throughout that period. To those who call us names for exercising those constitutional rights I ask you, who is acting unpatriotically?

It sounds like you are making excuses and apologising? Why? I don't feel there's anything to apologise for. You can live here the way you life, opportunity is open to all who are willing to work hard and achieve their goal. My family, like so many, moved to this country without speaking English and somehow managed to succeed in the end through hard work. So many other countries have barriers like class, political, social, or racial issues which can hinder one's ability to enjoy freedom or achieve what they would like in life, no matter how hard they are willing to work, or how educated they are.

I used to be pretty down on America when I was a rebellious teenager... maybe because it was fashionable, but after travelling to many other countries, I wouldn't want to live ANYWHERE besides America... seriously.

You just gave lot of rationalizations for being indifferent to our Nations ideals. Whatever? What a pathetic attitude.

Our Nation is not moving slowly towards improvement - it's been thrashing back and forth since it's birth - too far one way, and then too far the other. The fight is what keeps us from going too far in either direction. Learn some history.

Why are you being a cry-baby because people speak their minds?

Sounds like you are apologizing for the worst inept government we have had in modern history. This question and its explanation is an extremely sad commentary on how far people will go to justify bad government and bad decisions. If you don't want or value your civil rights and freedom that's fine....you can give them up...but you can't give them up for the rest of us. Pre Nazi Germans were in this sort of complacent mood as well. Look at history. I love this country. Jefferson said this" Dissent is the highest form of Patriotism" and Roosevelt saitd it is our duty in a time of war to criticise the commander in chief.....YES he said DUTY!!!!! Real Americans hold their government accountable...if they don't nobody will!!

I'm neither supporting nor arguing against your statements, just answering your question.

In America every cry-baby is constitutionally allowed to voice his/her complaints. Voicing a complaint can be constructive depending upon whether or not you agree with it.

Thank you. It is about time someone sees it the same way I do. Don't forget to support our troops. They are the ones that are stuck in the middle of a bad situation.....
