Wow, a lot of you people are very harsh on here! I'm an American, and I am insulted by your comments. And you know, it takes A LOT to insult me! I would never sit here and say such horrible things about a certain country. I apologize if Americans have been that mean to you guys! My intentions, as an American, are not to harm anyone or even hurt anyone's feelings! You guys should really think before you speak!! Maybe all American's are so bad...

i'm south african living in the uk. i grew up on american films in south africa and personally think (since most of our films in south africa were about 20 % local and 80% imported) that of all the films from the states and europe, the states produced the best films. no other country compares with their music or films. i DO think lots of other countries have wonderful music to contribute, but well...this is my opinion.
As for americans, i have my opinion about them, but thats quite something else. They're generally loud, arrogant, can't manage their obesity problems as a nation etc... but they do make good films.

Possibly - as watching a film just involves sitting still for a couple of hours as opposed to doing some physical exercise.

Probably, but on average, the folks in the UK have a little better understanding of important things like politics and world events, so who's really better off?

maybe ...but for sure they know how to market their movies....their publicity is 2nd to none.....

about better movies...i think there are lots of stupid American movies which you just watch it for teh sake of entertainement..(no values at all)......and I've watch 1 good Brazilian movie...City of God...

so depends on how do you define movies knowledge...
