It's just a Yahoo Answers link. This woman asks if she is correct in punishing her son. He's being teased at school for having gay porn on his cell phone, and he's considered a "bully" for retaliating. Her and my answers to one another are self-explanatory. I was trying to help. I was completely taken aback by what she wrote in resopnse, on an unrelated question of my own ("Are Christians stepping it up, or what?"). If you take the time to give input, I'll respond kindly and give the ten points to the best answer.

being a bully is wrong and id punish my son for being a bully also, self defense is another story and i would want my son to defend himself. having porn on his phone is also wrong (if it was there). peer pressure and teasing is very hard for kids these days and if he is gay he is going to get picked on unfortunatly. there is no way to tell from the question if the son was bullying of defending so its hard to determine a good course of action without all the facts. if he is gay they ( his parents) need to accept and understand whats going on but at the same time they can not condone him bullying other kids.

I think you both have good points..but I did not read the answer to "are Christians stepping it up" Kids do stupid things, and the mother has no way of knowing if her son had porn on his phone. (Highly doubtful, to say the least). IT is very easy to sit at home as a parent and NOT know what the kid goes through at school IF he is a bully (doesn't sound like that to me), then he deserves to be punished. IF he is not, then the suspension is automatic and is something to just bear out. I didn't figure out what the "Carrying on with..." stuff was about. You were not out of line with the info I saw.

I don't think you said anything out of line at all, sounds like the lady is just taking her frustration over the situation at hand (and god knows what else) out on you. Some people are f*cking nuts man - I once had this nutty fundamentalist stalk me onto my xanga to tell me I was evil and going to hell for honestly answering her question about gay Christians (and I'm not even Christian!). I would report her in your Christians question for harassment and move on.

WOW!!! I'd block her! After reading the whole q&a I have to think maybe the boy is having some sort of problem! Unfortunately, I think some of his problem may be at home!! You were ok to suggest what you did.

On a personal note, in my younger day I didn't have a cell phone with pictures I had magazines with pics hidden under my matress. My parents made me put them, along with all my "girly" clothes I hid, in a burn barrel in our backyard. I lived thru it, it wasn't nice. It didn't change me except to make me feel even stronger about who I was. And today I'm who, and what, I am! ME!

You were right and I suspect the boys mother deep down knows this and that's why she so upset about the whole thing...what is it'''there are none so blind as those who will not see' or something....Sounds like she has a great (sarcastic) relationship with her son...Even the federal laws don't allow someone to be deemed guilty before any of the evidence is heard....Makes me appreciate my parents a lot more.

Not sure why you need gay perspective on this, but I will give some of mine instead.

Some people on this site are just rude, others are not.

Being nice and polite cannot make some people happy.

Most people do not give serious answers.

Some people ask a question and do not really want help but rather are looking for a place to vent.

I think your answer was dead on. if she doesn't know her own son, how can she judge others...strangers?! Your response was helpful at least, and could be somethign that the son would appreciate. Her rudeness was uncalled for.
