I am in love with this guy, i never felt this way about anyone before. I want to share my life with him. He is just not a stable person, had a hard life and he runs away alot one city to the next and he also drinks more than the average. I am at a lost, because i can't stop thinking about him, i worry about him and his choices.

trust me i learn from my bestfren experience, u shud never be tooo nice to a guy, he'll take u for granted,.. my fren got heartbroken a million times in the end,, she love someone too fast,..maybe u're not like her,,still i think guys like girls that are play-hard-to get,the guy make more sacrifices than the gal.. but it's a different issue if u know dat the guy rili fall hard for u (^ - ~*).
i think it's best if u get to know him better again, and really make sure he got real feelings for you too..i Think the most important things is u shud see his devotion to you all these times, from little things u can foresee what will happen in the next 2 or 5 years what he'll do and so on..
be bestfriends with his guymate and ask him about ur Bf,what he talk about u and etc.,, i'm sure u'll get lots of info.. ^^

It sounds he is not the kind of guy who is ready or searching for life long commitment... If you want that with him, you may feel frustrated. People dont change that much. Not usually.
