Vocational Rehabilitation! They put you in adapted classes so that you are trained for your new job; they also help you with job placement.

The wages are not as high as what you would have been making before your accident, but it is better than not making any money at all.

If you check out the link below, it has information on what Vocational Rehabilitation, as well as a contact number.

Don’t give up, times will get hard and you will get frustrated… but you can over come your accident. Have faith in yourself. I wish you the best of luck and lots of strength.

p.s. try this way before you consider SSI.... SSI should be your last hope. I have experiance when it comes to A devastating accident, and claiming SSI is not the first route to go. Give your self a chance and see if Rehabilitation will work for you.

If you are 18 I will assume you have not worked enough to get Social Security Disability, but, you may qualify for SSI. You will need to go to your local Social Security Office and speak with someone. Also, ask!!!! At your age you may be able to Draw off your Mom or Dad. It not affect them I guess, but, it may be more than SSI. You will have to do some paper work and get a Doctor to sign some forms. It may take time too, but, if you qualify you will get back pay to when you started your application with some time allowances, not sure maybe for a month you not get anything.
Sonole 05 gives it short and sweet. They may deny you a few times, this shows if your willing to be persisit. Many try for this and give up when it not happen first time.

start studing the stock market.
read anything and everything you can about it
then when you feel you're ready, I'd say six months fo studying will provide you with at least a base from which to work with, you can start day trading.
OR. there's buying and selling things on EBay. (you could go to your local thrift store and buy crap to turn around and sell on ebay (you actually can make moey doing this because you're selling the same product to a MUCH larger potential market.
or if you don't have any quams about endlessly playing MMORPGS. you could become a gold farmer. (look it up people actaully make money doing this stuff)

just some Ideas.

Mercy and still a young child. My recommendation is to go to the nearest office of your social security office and file for disability benefits. People in your case have been given SSI and SSD benefits. Here is the national number you can call 1-800-772-1213. Please explain to them every detailed problem from a medical point of view and they will direct you from there as how to apply and comply to get benefits. After you have done that, call your local social services office to make an appointment for puiblic assistance. Even if its temporary until you start receiving social security benefits. Don't forget to bring letters from the doctor to support your cause as for they can be sonsa bitches. You can receive food stamps as well as medicaid and even rental assistance for food etc. Hope this helps

You don't mention what country you are in, but in the USA there are lots of agencies out there to help people such as yourself, so, if you indeed had a stroke and are disabled, the hospital in which you were treated would have arranged for your care. So, you either live elsewhere, or you are lying. If you live elsewhere, you have my sympathies, if you are lying, you really need to find something better to do.

If someone will hire you, you can work. Get under a doctor's care and take good care of yourself and try to get a job you would be good at. I don't know the answer to your question, but if you're looking for benefits, my guess is you wouldn't get any unless you held a job for a substantial amount of time. Otherwise it's low, low, low welfare for you.

I'm unsure as to how much you would get as everyone is on a different band of disability, therefore you need to contact the department for work and pensions, or visit your local jobcentre plus office, if you can.
