For sure. When I first read your question, I was going to make some sort of witty American Idol comment ("Just text Democrat-02 if you like how he sounded tonight...but wait until after the Liberals are done or your vote won't count...we'll find out what they have planned for us right after this commercial break from Ford")
But yeah, I guarantee they would be higher. People have robots to vacuum the living room, they'd eat up internet voting.

Well it is illogical to confirm a voter via electronically
Election turn outs would get better if they made that day a holiday
by the way, since the sheer amount of phone calls to american idol they cannot count the votes properly thus some people that have been kicked off is because their callers could n ot get through or where not counted... saw it on the real, realty behind the scenes, VH1

I know I would. But then you run into the problem of how to make sure someone is really who they say they are. There are a bunch of technical issues with it, and that is why it hasn't happened yet. I mean, what would happen if we were allowed to vote by using the Internet, and someone found a way to "stuff the box" electronically? They could do a whole lot of damage.

Which ever side lost would just whine about the winner fixing the election. We need to go back to paper ballots and add a mandatory id card check.

Yes, if people could vote from the comfort of their home. I think voting would have a much higher outcome.

If you voted by phone or internet, you would not know who voted. You would know where the vote originated, you might have a phone number or an IP address, but how do you verify who actually voted.

There is no doubt about it .But politicians would not want it because the person elected would be a true representative of the people

I do...I think people are really just either too busy or too lazy to go vote and if they could do it from home many more of them would.
