i own a repair shop,,and anything is possible, but unless you could find a wrecked one with all the stuff you needed still on it,it would be a really expensive job to do,,i have changed a lot of cars over from one thing to another ,and the one thing i always do is find another car to work with,,good luck i hope this helps.

you cant just bolt on a turbo, the engine isnt strong enough.the only way that i can think of and probably the best way forth is to get an impreza wrx engine, ecu, suspension, gear box, rear diff, and discs and calipers, exhaust system. the rest will do no other mods needed. the chassis and platforms are the same.
it could be rather expensive, and may be cheaper to buy a wrx to start with.
ive done quite a few in the past a little tricky but achievable.....
if you want any more advice just let me know
if your in the uk i may be able to point you in a few right directions..

if you want to do it cheap, then the stock td04 wrx turbo can be found for super cheap. if you want to do it RIGHT, then buying a ej205 is the way to go. of course, as someone already stated, getting the ecu, wiring harness, all that good stuff. it would be more worthwhile and cost-effective to just trade in on a wrx wagon.

You'll have to modify the entire engine. If you don't, your Subaru is going to have a very short, but spectacular life.

Yes but you have to update ever thing else that goes with it. Control units, injectors update the block to handle the boost. It only takes time and money.
