Many college teachers/professors want their papers written in a particular format. There should be handbooks available in the school bookstore that explain that specific format. If not done the way they want it, points will be taken off or the paper will not be accepted. I had a teacher who did not want term papers in a cover or folder, simply stapled at the top left corner. Each teacher will have their own requirements.
