Understanding is basic comprehension, and is tied to IQ. It's the ability to understand what you see and hear.

Knowledge is the facts that have been accumulated and understood.

Wisdom is the ability to make use of the first two to learn from past experiences and apply that knowledge and understanding in practical ways.

I am a counsellor,so l will answer this question in a counselling way.Knowledge is facts or experiences known by a person.Understanding is not necessarily having experienced the same knowledge as the person with the knowledge, but having the ability to put yourself in the person's shoes who has the knowledge,so that you can use the wisdom, you have learnt ,or from your own knowledgeable experiences, good sense and judgement to help the person with the knowledge that needs help.
