very different.
the f1's have massive engines which are not in their production cars. they are v12s. the production cars are v8s at most and that's in the 7 series. i'm sure you also notice the shape and design is totally different and the tires too. the closest you can get to f1 performance is thru the bmw M series of cars. the larger ones like the M6 have super powered engines that can churn out close to 400-600 hp. but they will never be the same as the f1 cars because of aerodynamics and tires. the f1 cars are made of fibreglass, seats only one, totally hugging the tarmac, very wide tires with no treads, that all makes it a very very fast car.

mercedes has built the slr mclaren which is the closest they can come to a real f1 car based on a production model.

Both have engines, wheels, etc. However non of the parts are the same. Some of the technologies make to production but not the same stuff in the F1.
