first off, 98.6 is an average.. my normal body temp is actually 97.7 to 98.3 (even nurses get it in that range) and sometimes being sick (usually from viruses i believe) can cause a slight drop in temperature instead of an increase.. it's happened to me before.. also.. have you used this thermometer before? it could be off by a little, or maybe you mouth is just a little cooler right now for some other reason? are you breathing more threw your mouth dew to congestion? drinking lots of cold drinks? are you taking any sedatives? i know you aren't feeling well, but try to take a warm shower/bath or move around a little and see if that helps.. if not then put in a call to your doctors office, tell them what's going on and let them decide if you need to come in or not.. i don't believe 95.5 is hypothermic yet.. but it doesn't need to drop any more.

If I was you I would be very concerned if my temp was 95.5 I would have someone to take it rectal and if it still the same I would go to the doctor. Because you got something going on. Normal temp is 98.6 Plus you really need someone to take your vital signs that have a medical background. Maybe yours isn't properly working. So take care and hope you get things straightened out

What you have is low grade fever. And as you have learned it is just an annoying as a high grade one.
However, are you sure you took your temperature correctly. My husband has always sworn his "normal" temperature is 97.6 -- but that is because of where he places the thermometer under his tongue.
Meanwhile, listen to the folks above - call your doctor for an appointment and find out if there is anything you can do for the low grade fever.

I would go in to my doctor, low temp and the symptoms you are describing could be a thyroid problem, or a problem with your hypothalamus. Of course there are a host of things that could be wrong, and maybe it is not as serious as it seems, but I would get checked out anyway. Good luck.

Believe it or not, low temp can mean low thyroid. Itll make you feel ill. Symptoms of low thyroid are:
Low temp
cold feet
cold hands
slow metabolism, therefore weight gain
hair loss
irregular heartbeat
