some nursing homes are also classified as skilled nursing facilities. these facilities should be able to provide iv therapy, feeding tubes, urinary catheters, and other special equipment.

if your nursing home is not a skilled nursing facility, then they will take the resident to the hospital for treatment. he may need iv antibiotics and fluid replacement. the nursing home will hold his bed for a limited number of days while he is hospitalized.

yes they can handle UTI's. UTI's are usually not complicated and the treatment for them is quite effective. Nursing homes have physician coverage and they take care of all the medical aspects of care. It somthing is over their head they usually admit to the hospital for extra care. Good Luck .

Most nursing homes in this country are staffed by licensed nurses. They usually stock simple antibiotics and have standing orders from their medical directors to treat UTI. Unless your dad becomes septic, his infections should be easily treated in the home.

Nursing homes can check urine when UTI is suspected, they then communicate with the doctor who can prescribe the antibiotics if needed, This can all be done with your father in his room, good luck

Drink a ton of cranberry juice, unsweetened [or the OceanSpray weight loss application, i admire that extra desirable, it is unquestionably sweeter] and lots of yougurt, the hot Activa is ultimate because of the fact it is have been given lots of the cultures had to help a stable UT, end ingesting any orange juice, it hurts once you pee it out, and drink lots of water. [you will desire to be peeing ultimately 5 cases an afternoon, on the least] positioned on a pantiliner and alter it generally. If it doesnt bypass away in a week and a 0.5, bypass to the well-being branch and tell them you like scientific care real away or you are going to the ER. in the event that they don't desire, it is to the ER, it would desire to alter right into a bladder or kidney an infection = undesirable.
