Got a friend that was supposed to buy 2 items in a recipe. I bought the other 4 items like weeks ago. These items have not been easy to find. I keep asking her if she bought them and she says, "no." Then makes up 20 excuses as to why she hadn't done so yet. We need these items in like a week. Would you buy the other 2 items and not share or would you go ahead and keep waiting for her to buy them. I don't want to make her mad, but I MUST have these items on time. I just don't think it's right for me to buy everything and her to do nothing. Best advice…10 points in 4 hours.

First off I hate procrastinators... me... I would buy whats needed and let her know I had it and that she owed me money... I'ld tell her that I'm just that type that can stand doing things at the last minute... and maybe she'll get the message ...next time... If she doesn't get the message... just don't commit to doing anything with her where she has to be responsible for part of it... let her know... letting things go to the last minute can be a tragedy... you may not be able to find what you need and then what would you do!!!! Copy and paste my response and send it to her with my regards... Good luck!!!

I would purchase the items myself and have them on hand just in case. If she buys the stuff and brings it over, great return the items. If she doesn't then you still have everything and I would highly question cutting her from any positive outcome or recognition. Remember if this route happens you might lose a friend. But I do agree that a person shouldn't have responsiblity for everything in a group event. Unfortantly you can only count on you so this is the best way to be safe.

Well give your friend a call adn ask if she has gotten the item's yet,if she say's NO then ask why, if she say's...I don't have time or whatever her excuses may be then offer to go buy the item's and have her pay you back. That way you are not going behind her back, she wont get upset and she wont be left out. Good luck & have fun cooking!

I think if she hasn't bought them now, she's not going to. You could grab her up and say let's go and find these items you are still missing and make it a fun couple of hours. If that doesn't work, go ahead and buy them and have her prepare the recipe if she's willing. Good luck!

next time you ask her if she has bought the 2 items if she says no ask her if she has the time to do it now and you can go with her if you would like to make sure she buys what she said she would and in time if she says no she doesnt have the time just state that you are going to go ahead and buy them so that you can get your stuff done

Go ahead and buy the items, but don't tell her. That way, if she doesn't come through with her end of the bargain, you'll still have the ingredients.

It's not right for you to have to buy everything, unfortunatly people are lazy bastards and you can't count on them, so from experience I'd say buy the other stuff yourself. I think its better to have wasted your money if she buys the suff, than to be stuck with nothing if she doesn't. I'd also talk to her about it if she doesn't get the things she's supposed to.

"Not to nag you about it, but I pretty much need to know now if I should just plan to get the stuff myself." If she says she'll still get it, then set a deadline, and let her know you'll be doing it yourself if she doesn't meet it. If she gets mad, so what? You have yourself covered and she'll get over it.
