Are we making a huge mistake by misunderstand Islam?

All muslim people are terrorists? How can we deal with 2 Islam´s.?

"we" dont misunderstand Islam. It is perceived in different ways by different people. Depending on who preaches, depends on how it is interpreted. I am C of E but I have read many books on other religions - surely if all the people in all the world could just agree on a few things that are the formation of every religion - love and respect your neighbours - the world would be a better place. No one person is better than any one else, we are all on this earth to survive, not to kill each other!

All world religious institutions become corrupt over time - its human nature

Both Christianity and Islam are disintegrating and its not a pleasant sight (like watching a rotting carcas disintegrate) there is much conflict, turmoil and the smell of death

In the turmoil the followers of all outdated religions loose the plot and split into many factions (like a bomb exploding in slow motion) and many of the followers are unable to reconcile there diferences

Only the next world religion can reunite these factions and restore harmony

the whole idea of democracy is freedom of choice and when you have another entity that inculcate from birth to their children that the western world is bad and anything thereof,where can you find the notion for any kind of dialog,the leaders that have started this radical fundamentalism is spiraling the world economy into the dark ages,hate and ignorance coupled with poor education and backwards treatment of the feminine gender can only give way to an abundance of servants that are willing to die for what they are taught.We as the western world have politically and economically neglected poor countries and so created an abyss of ignorance where one person with money can influence the masses and cause you a thorn in your heel,understanding the culture of Islam has to make every American to reflect upon if they were as fanatical about their country and were willing to die for it democracy would be as widespread as Islam and we would rival the dedication that they re veer about dying as much as we do in living,if you do not study Islam ,you cannot understand it ,more so try to understand what you live ,DEMOCRACY, live it and love it ,thank you for the question,delmy d

OK, first of all....in order to understand the whole Muslim thing, you need to sit back and look at this through a Muslim's eyes. What I know may not be 100% correct, but it is close enough to make the point necessary. Let me first state that I am not religious and I do not believe in God, Jesus, or Muhammad. OK...You have the Old Testament (OT) and the New Testament (NT). These are the primary sources of information for what we know as Western Culture religion. With the NT came Jesus, and with Jesus came Christianity. In the OT, GOD got pissed and destroyed the world. In the NT, he sent Jesus to spread the word of love and even sacrifices Jesus to show his sincerety in making the whole "if you believe in My son, then you can spend eternity in heaven" thing. Now, around 600 AD, this Christianity thing has gone wrong. People are being killed because they are Christians as they are being killed for not being Christian. Just like Noah and Moses and Jesus, God has now decided to speak to Muhammad. God tells Muhammad, "Hey, I've given these people two chances at doing what I ask and they continue to blow me off. Now, I want you to continue with the teachings of the NT, except I'm done forgiving everybody. They have abused the priviledge of me being a forgiving God and I'm a tad bit upset about it. So, now I want them to understand that there will be no more second chances. In fact, if they fail this time, the punishment is death. But, not only will I put to death those who don't fear my wrath, I shall also put to death those who fear me, but fail to spread the word to fear me." So, basically, God is pissed that no one respects him. Just like Middle Eastern Culture, we, as a society, believe what we are told. If you had been told your whole life that the Muslim way was the right way, you wouldn't consider it Terrorism either. You would simply be following the word of the Kuran (Quran) as our society does the Bible. All I have to say now is that I may die someday because of the invisible man who acts like a baby when he doesn't get his way.

We dont deal with two islams, we deal with the terrorists. Islamic radicalists are not even following their own teachings. I know of murderers who claim to be Christians. So do we put all Christians on death row? Obviously not. We have to deal with those who committ crimes.

I agree with chainsaw's answer. I suppose there must be some good Muslims out there somewhere, but how are we to differentiate, especially when they never denounce the terrorists? If I see a Muslim on the bus I am instantly suspicious, especially if he or she is carrying a bag.

Hell yeah we already made the mistake and the media paints a picture as if ALL muslims are terrorist when in fact only a small percentage are. Its on the extreme muslims who are like this. Also trying to kill and blow the hell up out of Iraq is not going to solve this problem of terrorism. There is terrorism everywhere. Muslims are not the only terrorist.

Why is it the muslim religion attracts such violence? Why is it that the muslim religion is so popular in our prison system? Makes you wonder what the true message of islam is???
