just wondering i was talking to a friend about this and wondered in history it usually the other way around and is usually explained that the husband could have more children if he has more wives and it means he is more wealthy but is their any people or cultures that do it the other way around just curious about this subject and no i dont want two husbands for all the wise crackers

It's called polyandry (the proper term for having many wives is "polygyny". "Polygamy" just means lots of spouses, so it's more general). Some families in Tibet practise it. They don't have a lot of land, so splitting it up between sons is impractical. Instead of doing it the UK way (one son to inherit the land, one to go into law, one to go into the clergy, one for the army), they'll get one wife for all of their sons.

possible but very very rare there are some cultures in Africa where a woman of wealth and power can have more than one husband, but again very rare

People do it, but I don't know if it's confined to a particular group of people. I have heard of it. But you're right, why would you really want that?

my girlfriend who had our baby lived with me and a good friend and her got together then we all lived together took some adjusting.but i got used to it after awhile. and we got along fine for about a year.so i think people can get used to a lot of situations.
