You need to see a different doctor ASAP! Rectal bleeding could be from any number of things...including hemorrhoids and polyps. You need to find a doctor who will listen to you and take you seriously! If you have to...go to your nearest emergency room and see a doctor there. You could very easily become anemic from losing too much blood.

Interesting. There could be a few things wrong with you, but they all end up the same way, with you getting a colonscopy. You could have chrons or ulcerative colitis but internal and external hemorrhoids are alot more likely. With this much bleeding you should also definitely have a CBC or a complete blood count to rule out anemia and other blood disorders like low platelets. Also a CT of your stomach would also be a great idea to see what is going on and maybe rule out diverticulosis which are little out pouchings in the colon that tend to bleed and cause some pain. If you are totally lost and cant take it anymore a trip to the ER may help bc they see these cases daily.

Yes there is a problem.
you need to do the following.
1. go to a gastroenterlogist, or an endoscopic surgeon.
2. My wild guess is u have either a fissure for which surgery is the only resort. Relax its a half an hour procedure under anaesthesia.
3. Take some mild pain killers, and sit on a rubber tube for now that has an hole in it.
4. Its a treatable and common condition, so relax, and drink plenty of fluids and some distraction therapy like movies, music.

I can't believe your doctor is being so insensitive!
You may have a fissure...in which case it is easy to get fixed.
However it could be more serious and you need a colonoscopy or at the very least a sigmoidoscopy. I had a mother , grandfater and best friend with colon cancer. While my grandfather and mother caught it early and lived, my 43 year old friend was embarrassed to go to the doctor about it. It was 3 months before her husband and I could convince her to go. It was to late by then. She died 9 months later of colon cancer. Do NOT WAIT...go get a second opinion today!!

There has to be something going on, and it could be serious. It could also be hemorrhoids. If the shade of blood is bright red, it is most likely from a tear or hemorrhoid. If it's dark, it could be some type of internal bleeding. I would say get a second opinion from a physician SOON.

There is absolutely something wrong.
If you doctor won't refer you to a proctologist (a gastroenterologist who specializes in diseases of the rectum), simply go to the emergency room when you have an episode of rectal bleeding. That'll short-circuit your genius doctors out of your life, and you WILL get treated.
All the best.

You need to see another doctor. You my want to see a gastroenterologist (sp?). Sounds like it could be something intestinal. My mother had the same symptoms and it turned out she has "pockets" in her colon that can get infected and inflamed. My boss suffered from colitis, which caused similar symptoms also. Both needed a colonoscopy to diagnose. Both get meds from their doctors for when their conditions flare up. It could be something like irritable bowel syndrome also. You need to see a specialist though. I hope some of this helps.

there could be numerous causes for rectal bleeding. this could be very mild and treatable, or it could be potentially fatal. go to a different doctor and if they don't take you seriously you should demand some diagnostic testing. it could be hemorrhoids or an anal fissure, or it could be polyps, colon cancer, crohn's disease, or a number of other problems. rectal bleeding is not normal and this needs to be taken care of.

The symptoms sound like you may have either irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis, diverticulosis, Chron's disease or colorectal cancer.
You need to go see another doctor.
If you have no Health Insurance, call your local health department and see if they have a Office of Cancer Prevention and Services. They can direct you to what steps you need to take to get checked out.
