A) Nicotine is addictive. Therefore causing people who start smoking to have to have cigarettes. It gets in blood stream and once it goes out it needs to have more put back in.
B) Tar- When you smoke a cigarette you inhale tar and it sticks on lungs. After years of build up It causes cancer.

Nicotine is the addictive chemical compound that makes a person crave the cigarette. Tar is the byproduct of burning the tobacco leaf that invades bronciolli tubes of the lungs. Well, at least that is what I remember from school. If you have the time to ask this question on the Internet, why don't you actually look up the information on google and find out for yourself instead of being lazy and wanting someone to hand over the answer?

I just bought a pack of cigarettes yesterday, after 25 days of being smoke-free. I can tell you that the addictive properties of the nicotine are really bothering me today, and the tar is making me cough and making my chest hurt.
