It's true unless you are brilliant at a particular thing you need a degree and even if you are brilliant a degree might be necessary. My freshman year of college I knew a brilliant guy who had nothing to learn but needed a bachelors degree to work.

Now the real truth about college. It is not what you learn in the classes that will stick with you forever (please don't misunderstand it is important to do well in school) but how you learn to cope with life and it's demands. College teaches you to juggle a full course load, midterms and finals, and the best part a social scene like you have never seen!! It's a great feeling believe it or not to drag yourself out of bed at 7:30am for a big test after a night of clubs. Now the trick is you could go out the night before because you had already studied for the test.

This prepares you for the "real world". I am recently out of college and I believe that my life is more hectic now than in my 5 years of college ( I went to a five year school).

It really depends on what college you go to and how many classes you take. Also, much of it has to do on what your major is. If you are afraid of being over-whelmed, why don't you try going part-time for a while and see how it goes. You may find that you like going to college. Just ease yourself into it. College does not have to be a trap, and it is important these days to have a college education if you expect to earn a good living.

first of all, you need to work on your spelling - "to college" not "too college." I'll assume "hoe" is a typo since W is next to E on the keyboard.

If you don't go to college, unless you're particularly brilliant at something profitable, the odds of you getting stuck in low-pay, dead-end jobs increases dramatically.

If you don't think you can handle it, go part-time; start at a public community college, which will be cheaper.

i suppose it depends on what type of career you would like to have.... but college is not just about education in my opinion, you can really find out more about yourself, meet new people. i went to college for the experience and never regretted going. don't be put off with all the hard work, it's all worth it... think what would you be doing instead? weigh off the importance of going to college or not to you.
