Working on a 1980 Ford with a in-line 6. Got 4 of the plugs out with some effort but #4&6 are rusted in hard. Soaked in pb blaster and will turn a 1/4 but are really in there. Any thoughts on getting these 2 out?

i own a repair shop, and id let them soak a little bit more and see if it helped,,you could force therm out but that's never a good idea to do,,they will let go,but there probably going to be hard to get out even if they do soak,as long as they don't bind up you,ll be OK it wont hurt the threads none,i get them like this all the time,,just take your time and they will let go,,good luck i hope this help,s.

Don't wrench on them with all your might just yet...even though you can turn them a 1/4 turn, the rusted threads can still hang up, and you can break the plugs off in the head, which would no doubt require a machine shop. Continue soaking them with PB, and work them back and forth until you can turn them 1/2 turn, then 3/4, then full. This will help to loosen the rust from the threads. Even as you get the plugs to turn counterclockwise, keep going back and forth as you get them loose, until they turn easily.

let the PB soak in for a while (like 30 mins) then soak it again and let it sit again, then make sure you have the socket all the way on there and then use a pipe or something to extend the handle of the ratchet, to get additional torque.

They are no doubt being held in by rust and carbon on the last thread
Being they broke loose, use a cheater pipe and muscle!

More soaking.

Failing that, how do you feel about taking off the head and going to a machine shop?

Call Lee Majors (the bionic man) I've seen him do it without any tools

Try using more muscle... You could try standing on the wrench or ratchet... But then you could also fall... Try if you can to see if a friend who is stronger could get it out for ya...
