what is the retail markups of dvds?

i heard it is around 30%...
eg a $29.95 dvd would wholesale for about $22.50

correct?

if anybody knows how the industry works fill me in...

The answers so far are not really what i'm looking for... I am refering to the markup between WHOLESALE price vs. RETAIL prices on DVDs... I already know how much dvds cost to replicate and about video production costs, etc… Strictly looking for the markups on DVDs and any examples of exact prices… THANKS!

That sounds about right. Most new releases are marked down to almost cost or below cost sometimes. To be able to pay the bills every month (and employees) the stores need to run on about a 30% gross profit.

about 75% mark up. Production of the dvd only costs a few bucks
