good spot...strange people, when they are moving they seem to be quite brave, but if you stop to confront them , watch how they shrivel in front of you, really quite amusing.

No not really but it helps as they are the ones who are saving the frigging planet and pressing the lights you are polluting the envioronment with waves of something or other not to mention god forbid they have to actually stop to let you past. As for Algernon or Tarquin medical student well what can I say rushing to save another life the real outside world does not exsist for them and did you know they are GOD! LOL

I got the evil eye from a cyclist today, too. I had to squeeze past her and her friedn chatting away only to be overtaken by her 10 seconds later at which point she changed direction right across my path and looked surprised when she had to slam her breaks on. Incidently we were on the pavement had she, as she was legally obliged to, been cycling on the road, she would have had no such problems. I was also given abuse from a cyclist in Bristol on the pavement who, when I pointed out he should be on the road after I had had to step aside and let him pass, told me it was a cycle path, I would have loved to have known whre pedestrians were supposed to walk- in the road I would guess.
I am a pedestrian, cyclist and car driver and I would like to think I do all three with equal grace and politeness, as I've experienced all view points

There are two classes of cyclists: middle class and stroppy being one, with young and pikey being the other.
Young and pikey tends to cycle on the pavement, and think they own it.
Middle class and stroppy tends to cycle on the road, and get annoyed with car users who don't like them being there, and almost hit them all the time.
I personally fall into the middle class and stroppy category. I believe wholly in the rights of pedestrians, and would never get annoyed with a pedestrian for crossing when I have a red light: it's their right of way! Similarly I believe in the rights of cyclists, and get annoyed with car users who block cycle lanes, cut cyclists up, or overtake them just to brake straight away afetrwards in the way!

My Husband is a roadie and a mountain biker and he is a very polite cyclist. Even if the light is red you should still check for traffic in case a mad granny or ambulance doesn't see you. USE THE GREEN CROSS CODE!!!!

I don't know about middle class but most cyclists in central London are certainly idiots.

Just nudge them off as they go past. If they are training to be doctors they'll be able to treat themselves.
