We had a leak from our upstairs bathroom and parts of the wall downstairs has started bubbling out. At one point, there was a bubble filled with water on the wall. Ugghh! How do I fix this?

The bubble might have been from the paint. but to be safe I would cut out the drywall and replace it. If there is insulation behind the drywall, it might also need to be replaced.

Just cut back the damaged area and replace that part. Depending on how ba it is, there is no point doing the whole wall.

Cut it out. If you locate your studs and then cut out the bad section to be on the center of the studs you can just screw in the new piece and then tape, mud, sand and paint. You want to remove it so you don't get black mold.
