Will I still be approved, and what kind of documentaion will i need to prove it wasnt me? I have police case numbers, copies of affadavits of forgery, and a letter from the court system that tells me who it was that stole my id and what she was charged with.

Unless you are planning on moving into a really high priced apartment they aren't likely to run a credit check on you even though they may say they will they are looking for your reaction. If you panic then they will run one, if you don't as long as your income says you can afford the apartment they usually don't bother. Take your documentation with you and offer it up before they ask. Let them know that you are giving it to them in case of any problems. Make sure you take photocopies to leave with them. On another note you should take the same documentation to the credit bureau and have it removed from there. If you don't it may cause problems in obtaining other things where credit checks are run such as cell phones leases, loans, and purchasing a car.

One of the most important things for you to do is add a letter to your credit report. Everyone has this right. Send a letter to each one of the credit bureaus stating the items that were not you and the actions you took to clear your name. Let them know you want the letter to be attached to your credit report. So every time someone sees your credit report they will see the letter too. Identity theft is common now and so businesses are more understanding that before. Just do your part to leave a paper trail to show your efforts in clearing your name.

Take all the proof you have and contact the credit agencies to have them revise and correct your credit report. In 3 weeks it should be a problem. But, do take it also to the landlord so they see it also.

In my opinion,You worry to much.first of all this is planet earth and they really don't care to much about anything but the bucks.They may act like they do but in all reality if you had the right amount I'm sure you could buy their children now-a-days.Good Luck and May God Bless You.

make copies of the paperwork you have and submit with your application. when talking to the landlord, mention your problem you are having and give them the paperwork at that time. i think they will understand and you will be OK
