Sometimes that happens to me and I just use the feminine wipes to clean myself ever so often and it goes away. This only happens to me some month after heavy periods but it works. Make sure you pick unscented ones because it could make the smell worse sometimes.
Douche for my breaks me out. I used it once and the smell went away, but I had a rash for two weeks. Its not good for you it could cause you infection. Then you will have a bad smell and hurt.
Good Luck with this

I friend of mine told me her doctor prescribed her an ointment that helped to kill the bacteria that was causing the smell. A girl I worked with a few years ago, said her gyno prescribed her a pill that essentially did the same thing. If you gyno says it is normal, then it must be. You probably think it's worse than it really is. Try only wearing white cotton underwear. The dyes in underwear can cause problems and Lycra and other materials don't let your skin breathe. You can also try panty liners, that will absorb. Always has the dry weave that absorbs well and keep your underwear quite clean.

First of all, douching isn't good for you. Your body cleans itself internally, and doesn't need chemicals to help cleanse. In addition, there are chemicals added to douche to make you uncomfortable a while after douching so that you'll want to do it again...this way you continue to buy the product. I know this from a chemist who worked at a company that made douche. As for your problem it sounds normal. Is it possible that you're getting excited or stimulated in the shower? If this is the case, because you're getting clean, you might get dry, but a little later you might be "wet" and that's where the smell would come from. Do you smell this at any other time?

Are you taking a bath or shower? Females should not take a bath, they should shower. Due to that part of the body being so sensitive.
You may want to try changing soaps, use something mild like Dove or Ivory. Also you can purchase a product called FDS. That stands for Femine Deodarnt Spray.
If the problem even starts to worsen see your dr. it could be a very early sign of a yeast infection.

Douching can displace your ph level causing infections (such as yeast) and smell (even worse than before) I don’t recommend douching because it can cause more problems than good.
Famine wipes and powders (with slight deodorant) can help contain if not eliminate some of the odor with out disturbing your ph level.
Just remember that every one has a scent.

Don't you just ******** hate those stubborn gyne's that keep reassuring you there's nothing wrong with you? They act like you don't know your own body. Instead of helping they make matters worse.
I had b/v and then got yeast probably from the meds. So i can inform you that yeast smells kinda like a chessy musty smell, and b/v smells like fish. If it persists you will have to find someone else that can comprehend your needs. Let her know how bad it makes you feel, and maybe she'll try to get to the root of the problem.

the reason the douche was discouraged is because intense washing or "over hygiene" can disrupt the normal bacterial flora in the vaginal canal allowing other bacteria to grow. this can result in an easily treatable infection that can sometimes give a weird (or rather funky) odor. i don't know if this is what is going on with you, but i would limit your hygiene to simple soap and water and see if it makes a difference.

douching isnt that healthy for you anyways, its like stripping
your body of the important "bacteria" that you need to ward off
yeast infections and all that other nasty stuff.
they make "personal wipes" that are scented and that may do the trick for you, i dont use them b/c they irritate my skin.
monistat makes them you can find them in the "girlie" isle of a drug store.
it is basicaly normal and i can see why you would be self concious.
sometimes they say a healthier diet improves the uh, oder.
and if youre a smoker and a drinker im sure that dosent help
either.
you may also have a lingering yeast infection, but im sure its just normal

Are you taking a bath or a shower?
If your taking a bath then start showering, your sitting in water that is dirty, I only take baths when I want to relax not get clean. You may also try to use a soap that doesn't have any perfumes in it like ivory, you may be having a reaction to the dyes and perfumes.

your dr. told you not to douche because your body has a natural cleansing system, and douche-ing would interfere with that. douching is not natural, it could cause irritation or yeast infection.
make sure you are dry down there before getting dressed. maybee wear a panti-liner to absorb moisture. if you are that worried it is not normal, seek a second opinion from a dr. but don't douche.
