I didn't mean they had little to do with the book, I meant that these questions are just regular questions that I want to have opinions for from different people.

1. People should pay for their mistakes/crimes. Totally agree, if people knew there would be no consiquence to their actions, well then I'd just hate to see their actions!

2. Mistakes should be forgotten so that people can carry on with their lives. Mistakes can be FORGIVEN. It's just too hard to FORGET sometimes.

3. Adultery is a crime. Adultery in many oppinions are considered a sin, NOT a crime. The punishment lies within, the guilt, and the people you hurt or families YOU destroy.

4. Adultery is an accepted action in our society. Adultry is NOT accepted, but it does happen unfortunatly, and is SOMETIMES forgivable.

5. It is never right to break the law. Laws are meant to be broken,...just kidding, Some laws are cause for a judgment call, and others call for a good lawyer!

6. It is all right to break some laws. Refer to answer #5

7. A criminal's crime and punishment should be made public. Depending on the case!

8. A criminal has a right to privacy. A CONVICTED criminal, checks in their privacy rights at the prison gates. Any other criminals are considered citizens and have the same right as we do.
9. As citizens, we have a right to judge the actions of others. Some of us are appointed the right to judge by the court systems, all others it's just a right of free speech and just oppinions.

10. We have no right at any time to judge others. Refer to answer #9.

11. As a society, we have a right to punish others for their crimes. Innocent until proven guilty, first. And society, nor "the Media" is not the judge or the jury.

12. We have no right at any time to punish others. I need more specifics as to who exactly "We" consist of. "We, the jury have a right to convict, and request a sentence." The judge then confirms conviction, and alters, agrees, or not agree with the sentence. He has the override authority.

I agree with the first answerer... these questions are the central issues raised by the book. I have mixed emotions though, when it comes to answering them... I guess ultimately, I believe crimes should be punished, the punishment should FIT the crime, but that citizens do NOT have a right to judge others' actions. Which is a huge contradiction, I know. :) It's a great question, and it will certainly have me thinking today. Thanks for the mental kick in the @ss!
